WalkieTokki Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-06-01 Last updated: 2026-06-01
The Korean version of these Terms is the legally binding text under Korean law. This English version is a non-binding translation provided for the convenience of international users. In case of any conflict between the two, the Korean version prevails.
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions, procedures, and the respective rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Wikid Production (hereinafter "the Company") and users of the mobile application "WalkieTokki" (hereinafter "the Service").
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service: a mobile application that allows cyclists to join groups by channel code or QR code and exchange real-time voice transmissions via the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button on a Bluetooth headset.
- User (Member): a person who has agreed to these Terms and registered through social sign-in (Apple, Google, or Kakao).
- Channel: a virtual space in which riders sharing the same code or QR code are connected by voice.
- Content: all data arising from use of the Service, including voice signals, nicknames, and ride records.
- Pro Subscription: a paid tier set by the Company that grants extended usage time beyond the free plan.
Article 3 (Validity and Modification of these Terms)
- These Terms take effect when the User agrees to them at sign-up. Before sign-up (sign-in), the Company obtains [Required] agreement to the Terms of Service and [Required] consent to the collection and use of personal information separately, providing a link to the full text of each at the time of consent.
- The Company may modify these Terms within the bounds of applicable law and will give in-app or email notice at least 7 days before any change takes effect.
- For changes that are materially adverse or significantly impact the User, the Company will give notice at least 30 days in advance and, where required by applicable law, obtain the User's consent.
- If the User does not agree to a modified version, the User may discontinue use by deleting their account.
Article 4 (Sign-up)
- Sign-up is completed by choosing one of Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or Kakao Sign-In.
- The Company does not accept sign-ups from children under 14 years of age. During sign-up the User enters their date of birth, and sign-up is blocked if the User is found to be under 14. The date of birth is used only for age verification and is not stored — it is discarded immediately (data minimization).
- If a sign-up by a child under 14 is identified, the Company will immediately delete the account. The legal guardian or the User may request immediate deletion at support@walkietokki.com.
- The Company may refuse or subsequently terminate a sign-up in any of the following cases:
- The User signed up using another person's information.
- The User has breached these Terms or applicable law.
- Identity verification is not possible.
Article 5 (Obligations of the User)
- The User shall comply with these Terms, applicable law, and any notices given by the Company.
- The User shall not engage in any of the following:
- Defamation or insult of others;
- Profanity, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or violent speech;
- Repeated unsolicited advertising, promotion, religious/political solicitation, or propagandistic statements against the will of other users;
- Transmission of content inappropriate for minors;
- Indiscriminate entry into channels by collecting channel codes or QR codes without authorization;
- Reverse-engineering, hacking, or circumventing the Service;
- Any other conduct that harms social order or public welfare.
- While riding, the User shall comply with traffic laws and the duty of safe operation. The User must remain aware of the surrounding environment even while wearing a headset.
Article 6 (Scope of the Service)
The Company provides the following:
- Group voice transmission (PTT) by channel code or QR code.
- Automatic saving of ride history (last 30 days displayed).
- Wind noise reduction options.
- Nickname configuration and display.
- Pro Subscription (to be introduced after public launch).
- Other supplementary services the Company may add.
Article 7 (Service Hours and Suspension)
- The Service is in principle available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The Company may suspend the Service temporarily where necessary for maintenance, incidents, or urgent security measures. Where possible, the Company will give prior notice; in urgent cases, notice will be given as soon as practicable after the fact.
- The Service may be temporarily suspended in the following cases:
- System inspection, repair, or replacement;
- Force majeure events such as natural disasters or telecommunications failures;
- Where urgent security measures are required.
Article 8 (Withdrawal and Loss of Membership)
- The User may withdraw at any time via the in-app "Profile → Delete Account" menu.
- Upon withdrawal, the following will be processed immediately:
- Firebase authentication information is permanently deleted;
- Nickname and sign-up date are permanently deleted;
- Ride records are anonymized and retained only for statistical purposes.
- Where a User has materially breached these Terms, the Company may, after prior notice, restrict or terminate the User's membership.
- Notwithstanding the foregoing, if there is a risk of infringement of others' rights, breach of service security, unlawful activity, or urgent spread of harm, the Company may apply temporary restrictions without prior notice and will notify the reason without delay thereafter.
Article 9 (Paid Services and Refunds)
The paid-service provisions of this Article (billing, auto-renewal, withdrawal, refunds, etc.) apply only from the time the Company actually introduces and launches a paid service such as Pro; the Service is currently provided free of charge. When a paid service launches, the Company will reflect and give advance notice of the right of withdrawal under Article 17 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and the Content Industry Promotion Act, the procedures for cancelling and refunding recurring payments, the Apple/Google in-app billing policies, and the advance-notice procedure for amended terms.
- Payments, renewals, cancellations, and refund requests for the Pro Subscription are processed through the in-app billing systems of the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- The Company will provide the guidance and cooperation necessary to handle withdrawal of subscription, contract termination, and refund requests, within the bounds of each platform's policy and applicable law.
- (Once a paid service is introduced) After the first-week free trial, automatic billing begins; unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, the subscription auto-renews at the same price. The Company will provide in-app notice before the free trial ends.
- When a free user reaches the weekly usage limit (3 hours/week), they will be automatically removed from the channel; the limit resets on the same weekday of the following week relative to their sign-up date. Where the limit is likely to be reached, the Company may give advance in-app notice.
- Right of Withdrawal of Subscription: Under Article 17 of the Korean Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the User may withdraw a subscription within 7 days of payment. However, due to the nature of digital content, the right of withdrawal may be restricted in the following cases:
- Where the User has already begun using the Service after payment (e.g., completed at least one ride with Pro privileges);
- Where automatic billing follows the free trial, the refund policy of the respective payment platform applies.
- Channels for withdrawal and refund requests:
- Apple App Store payments: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play payments: per Google Play's refund policy
- If the User contacts the Company directly regarding a refund or payment, the Company will provide guidance and cooperation within the bounds of applicable law and platform policy.
Article 10 (Intellectual Property)
- All intellectual property related to the Service (logos, design, UI, software, etc.) belongs to the Company.
- The User may not reproduce, transmit, publish, or distribute information obtained through use of the Service without the Company's prior consent.
Article 10-2 (Protection of Personal Information)
- The Company strives to protect the User's personal information. Details of the processing of personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.
- The Privacy Policy has the same effect as these Terms and is available at walkietokki.com/privacy or in the app under "Settings → Privacy Policy."
- The Company takes the technical and administrative measures necessary to manage Users' personal information safely in accordance with applicable law.
Article 11 (Special Provisions on Voice Content)
- PTT voice is transmitted and processed temporarily through Agora services for real-time transmission; the Company does not record or store voice on its servers.
- Recording, storing, editing, distributing, or providing voice to third parties without the consent of other Users may result in a breach of applicable law and civil or criminal liability.
- The Company will cooperate only in response to lawful requests from investigative authorities under applicable law, including the Protection of Communications Secrets Act.
Article 12 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Company is not liable for service interruptions caused by reasons not attributable to the Company, such as natural disasters, telecommunications failures, or issues with the User's device.
- Responsibility for judgments and actions based on information obtained while using the Service rests with the User.
- Regarding safety while riding: (i) the User has a duty to comply with the Road Traffic Act and other applicable laws; (ii) the User bears responsibility for accidents and damages caused by the User's unlawful acts or negligence; and (iii) the Company fulfills a reasonable duty of safety guidance, including providing a safety notice on the User's first ride (compliance with laws, wearing protective gear, and using the button instead of operating the screen while riding).
- Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company assumes the corresponding liability for damages caused by the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- Any scope of liability not specified in these Terms is governed by applicable law (such as the Act on Regulation of Terms and Conditions and the Civil Act).
Article 13 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Law)
- Matters not specified in these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Lawsuits arising from use of the Service may be brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
- However, where the User is a consumer, the district court having jurisdiction over the User's address or residence prevails in accordance with the Framework Act on Consumers and the Civil Procedure Act.
